Prerequisites

You must reach a total of six points. Basic requirements include German level A1 or English level B2, at least two years of vocational training, or a university degree that is recognized in your country of origin. No points are awarded for the basic requirements.


POINTS DISTRIBUTION

  • Two points are awarded for two years of professional experience preceded by vocational training (in the last five years). If you are not older than 35, you also get two points. 2 more points for German level B1.

• One point if you aren't over 40 and for a previous stay in Germany (at least six months). Previous stays as a tourist do not count.


Four points for partial recognition of a foreign professional qualification or for permission to practice a regulated profession (e.g. teacher, nurse, or engineer).

• Three points for five years of professional experience (in the last seven years). Alternatively, you receive three points for good German language skills at level B2.

✔  Do not lie about anything in the interview. Get your facts right as they already have your documents and the interviewer is trained to spot any lies.

✔  Do not carry too many documents with you . Just carry the mandatory documents ( work experience and education), and financial documents.

✔ Do not overwork. Be confident and calm 

✔ Do not fidget around the desk and pick any argument with the interviewer during the interview.

  Make sure that you are all ready to face any questions that the interviewer might ask. Be ready with the course you want to take and why, the finances you need, and your motivation for it.

✔ Always ask if you have any kind of doubts as it is important to have a clear head and know all the answers.

✔ Be prepared to answer the "what if" questions as the interviewer asks them to test your motivations.

  Do your research well and look into the university that you are applying for. Check the course well and make sure that your choice is in line with your educational goals.

✔ Dress smart, look presentable, and approach the interviewer calmly.

✔  Listen carefully to the questions and then respond carefully. Also, be polite and courteous in your response.
